Plot Synopsis

In the aftermath of the September 1971 Attica Prison uprising, Shango, a black inmate was indicted for the murder of two fellow white prisoners during the revolt. Ernie Goodman, a lone-wolf defense attorney was accustomed to trying case without co-counsel but Shango, distrusting of the legal system, wanted to serve as his own co-counsel. The landmark decision which, proved that the inmates were killed by gunfire from the police who retook the prison,forced the State of New York to dismiss more that 60 pending cases against Attica inmates.
