Plot Synopsis
Two pregnant women, Karen Schouten and Alice Holc learn that their babies will be born with severe birth defects, one with a defective heart the other with a defective brain-neither is expected to live more than a few hours. Deciding to donate their brain dead daughters heart, the Schouten's provide hope for the Holc family who undergo a landmark infant heart-transplant operation. The surgery is a success and both mothers form an everlasting bond.
