Plot Synopsis

Spanning more than 40 years, the true, behind-the-scenes story of eccentric mother and daughter "Big Edie" and "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale, relatives of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy who once lived glamorous and well-heeled lives until a series of circumstances found them financially destitute. Living in squalor in a decaying mansion in the Hamptons they are rescued from being evicted by Jackie Kennedy Onassis. In 1973 they became the subject of a documentary by filmmakers Albert and David Maysles which catapulted them from virtual obscurity to cult status as their legacy grew in depth and stature over the years.
