Plot Synopsis

On Nov. 25,1999 a 5 year-old boy was rescued in the waters off Florida after trying to flee with his mother, who drowned, from Cuba. When his Miami relatives refused to return him to his father in Castro's Cuba an international controversy was ignited . The boy quickly became a symbol for both sides of this political issue. The US Attorney General and the courts eventually decided that the boy belonged with his dad and in a predawn raid was taken from the custody of his Aunt and Uncle and reunited with his loving father.
