Plot Synopsis

Based on the book. An Italian princess marries a U.S. army officer from a wealthy New York family, headed by his domineering mother. When her husband is killed in Korea, the naive foreigner learns that her scheming mother-in-law refuses to help her in any way. Alone, with a young daughter, she soon becomes a famous fashion model and marries a drug addicted photographer who kills her during a heated argument. Her child, now a devastated orphan, is eventually adopted by her beloved uncle.
