Plot Synopsis

On a street in the suburbs of Cleveland, a tight-knit group of neighbors have proudly lit Christmas luminaries for 40 years, but that long-standing tradition is cancelled this year when Matt Norman, a teenage boy in the neighborhood, is hospitalized in desperate need of a heart transplant. As his parents, Ann and Mike, anxiously pray by his bedside, a donor is found; meanwhile, in Detroit a mother gives the gift of life as she quietly grieves for the loss of her own son. The Life Flight team packs the Detroit donor heart and quickly gets it airborne on Christmas Eve, but a winter storm moves in, making the frantic life-and-death mission that much more perilous. The neighborhood decides to light the luminaries after all, providing a miraculous beacon in honor of Matt that helps guide the plane through the nasty weather. They are soon surprised to find their loving exhibition turns out to be the miracle that saves Matt's life, making it the merriest Christmas of all.
