Plot Synopsis

Based on the book Calm At Sunset, Calm At Dawn by Paul Watkins. In a fishing village, a young man sorely disappoints is parents when he drops out of college to pursue his dream of becoming a fisherman, just like his dad and grandfather. Against his father's objections he gets a job on a scallop dragger and soon befriends a crusty sailor, whom he saves from drowning. He discovers that his father, as well as other fisherman, have been running drugs in order to make ends meet. He confronts his father but his anger eventually turns to compassion when he begins to understand the harsh realities of life.
