Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by Winston Groom. In 1959, in a small Louisiana town a sympathetic lawyer takes on the case of and elderly black women whose property is being stolen out from under her by the town's wealthiest family. Believing that the real estate was deeded to her by the late family patriarch he sets out to uncover the secrets that have been kept hidden for over thirty years.
