Plot Synopsis

This half-hour reality series follows the quirky radio personalities working at NYC radio station HOT 97, revealing the ambitions and rivalries of a group of co-workers who are more like family. Over the airwaves HOT 97 WQHT sounds like a well-oiled machine, churning out music, news and pop culture, but behind the scenes, this crew is lovingly dysfunctional and shares comedic moments with each other and on-air guests like Kanye West, Macklemore, Rick Ross, Mack Wilds, Wale and many more. THIS IS HOT 97 features the following radio talent: Ebro Darden, the no-nonsense program director, who has joined the morning show, blurring the line between boss and co-worker; hip-hop innovator Funkmaster Flex, the godfather of HOT 97, who rules weeknights from 7pm to midnight with his on-air rants, big ego and short temper; Angie Martinez (aka The Voice of New York), whose afternoon drive slot earns some of the most enviable ratings in the nation; Cipha Sounds, the former house DJ on CHAPPELLE'S SHOW, who has worked his way up at HOT 97 over the last sixteen years; Peter Rosenberg, who can be heard pushing underground artists every weekday morning and every Sunday night on "Real Late with Peter Rosenberg"; Laura Stylez, the morning show newbie, who started in 2013 as a co-host and producer of the "HOT 97 Morning Show" and has released a limited edition jewelry line; and Miss Info, the HOT 97 News Director, who dishes the latest hip-hop scoop on "The Funkmaster Flex Show" every hour and on her nightly "Miss Info Celebrity Drama Report."
