Plot Synopsis
DALLAS CAR SHARKS is a reality series that follows dealers who descend on the Texas Lone Star Auto Auction in Lubbock, TX, as they vie to outbid each other for automobiles, inspect their purchases, and then try to flip their cars for profit. These car enthusiasts love the thrill of the bid nearly as much as the incredible cars they're working hard to win, but are sometimes in for a rude awakening when the car they've won turns out to be a lemon. After winning the bidding wars the real work begins for the car sharks. Now they have to get down and dirty to inspect their purchases, and what they find under the hood reveals the true value of their skills on the bidding block. Each 30-minute episode of this series follows three buyers who purchase vehicles, including a 1998 Official Indy 500 Pace Car, a 1964 Thunderbird with a surprise under the seat, a 1968 Pontiac GTO that stalls on the drive home, and a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria police cruiser with a secret. DALLAS CAR SHARKS featured these four buyers in Seasons 1 & 2: Tommy 'The King' Spagnola, a true Texas family man, who has been in the business for 30 years with a family-run auto lot featuring a massive, museum-quality show room; Ash 'The Wise Guy' Rabah, a cocky dealer, who operates a lower-end lot; Martha Davis (aka Mother Hen), who battles being a woman in the used -car world but is determined to succeed and provide for her family; and J.D. Cole, Martha's son, who, unlike his mother, takes big risks on flashy cars. Season 2, which was filmed from October 2013 through Spring 2014, debuted with back-to-back new episodes on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on Velocity. In the season premiere Martha works on a 1969 Barracuda, Tommy uncovers a loaded 1965 El Camino and JD picks up a 1978 Trans Am. Then, in the night's second episode, Martha picks up a 1966 Beetle, JD transforms a 5.0 Mustang, and Ash locates a 1988 Alfa Romeo convertible that's missing a seat. Throughout the show's sophomore season, JD, Martha, Ash and Tommy will bid on everything from classic rust buckets, seatless sportsters and vintage bikes to Pre-War World II vans, 4x4s and straight up all-American muscle cars. DALLAS CAR SHARKS returned for its 14-episode third season on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as Velocity premiered back-to-back new episodes. In Season 3, veteran sharks Ash Rabah, Martha Davis and her son, JD Cole, look to sink their teeth into the show's rookie shark, Frank Cortese. But Frank is out to prove he's more than just fresh meat. He wants to show that he's a formidable foe when it comes to fishing out bargains on the auction block and turning them into profit in the body shop.
