Plot Synopsis

Based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name, THE LAST ANNIVERSARY is a six-part mystery drama that's set on the remote, but beautiful Scribbly Gum Island, a place of many secrets. The one that made it famous -- the disappearance of a young couple decades ago -- might have made the island a destination for true crime tourists, but when Sophie Honeywell inherits a house on the island, it's the fresh start she's craving. After the unwelcome reception she receives on arrival, she begins to investigate the mysteries of the island and finds herself drawn into a complex web of long-held family secrets spanning three generations of women, uncovering far more than ever expected. Episode 2 (U.S. premiere on Sunday, April 6, 2025 on AMC+): As Sophie settles into Scribbly Gum Island, she starts to dig further into the Baby Munro Mystery, while preparing to host the family for their first monthly dinner party since Connie's death.

Episode 3 (U.S. premiere on Sunday, April 13, 2025 on AMC+): Sophie discards one unsuitable suitor, just as another enters her life. Grace continues to struggle with motherhood, and her own mother, Enigma. Sophie and Veronika make a big discovery in the Baby Munro mystery.

Episode 4 (U.S. premiere on Sunday, April 20, 2025 on AMC+): A DNA test brings answers about Enigma's parentage but the news pushes Rose further into her shell. Sophie explores her fling with Zeke and connects with Callum, while Grace tries to find some peace.

Episode 5 (U.S. premiere on Sunday, April 27, 2025 on AMC+): After more frustrating encounters with the men on the island, Sophie decides it is time to leave. Margie and Veronika uncover more clues about Alice and Jack in Connie's old family photographs.
