Plot Synopsis

THE YORKSHIRE VET is a one-hour docuseries that follows the staff at the original practice of Alf Wight at Skeldale Veterinary Centre in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Using his pen name James Herriot, Alf wrote the "All Creatures Great and Small" books. In this reality series, Julian Norton, his partner (and Alf's former trainee) Peter Wright, and their staff help their clientele -- both two-legged and four-legged! This center may have moved from the original premises to a purpose-built facility, but the heart and soul of this historic veterinary practice are very much alive and beating.

Season 8 of THE YORKSHIRE VET had its U.S. premiere on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Acorn TV released all 10 episodes of the new season. In the season opener, Julian faces one of his most challenging surgeries ever when doting dog owner Louise brings in her Westie, Duffy, who has a huge tumor on his liver. As the sun sets, Peter races to an emergency lambing. Farmer Phil Shaw's ewe is expecting triplets, but he has been unable to deliver two of them because they're tangled inside their mom.

And Jo the pygmy goat is brought into Skeldale because she keeps putting her head through a wire fence and getting her horns stuck.
