Plot Synopsis

WHOSE VOTE COUNTS, EXPLAINED is a three-part documentary series that explores the voting system in the United States. The right to vote is at the foundation of America's democracy, but not every vote is created equal. How does the system work, and can it be improved? Leonardo DiCaprio, Selena Gomez and John Legend lend their voices to this deep dive into U.S. voting. On Monday, September 28, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all three 25-minute episodes:

"The Right to Vote": Why is the right to vote in America still a fight? From voter suppression to disenfranchisement, see the roadblocks that stop voices from being heard.

"Can You Buy an Election?": Running for office is expensive, but deep pockets alone can't secure a win. Why are U.S. elections so awash with cash, and what does that money buy?

"Whose Vote Counts": Gerrymandering. The Electoral College. In America, some votes count more than others, and the balance of power is unequal. How can the system be fixed?
