Plot Synopsis

Each case is built from the perspectives of both the defense and prosecution, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the legal process until the very final scene when the verdict is rendered. Kathryn Peale, the Deputy Bureau Chief in the New York State District Attorney's office, is the product of a New England background and a sheriff father. Jimmy Brogan, one of New York's rising criminal attorney stars, was born and raised in Hell's Kitchen and has been a friend of Kathryn's since their days at Yale Law School. These evenly matched lawyers and their respective teams create two different stories from the same set of facts. Ultimately, innocence and guilt have nothing to do with the truth -- the only thing that matters at the end of every trial is what the jury believes.
