Plot Synopsis

WHALE WARS: VIKING SHORES follows the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as it embarks on "Operation Ferocious Islands," a land-air-sea campaign against the ancient tradition of slaughtering pilot whales in Denmark's Faroe Islands, which is led by the Steve Irwin (captained by Paul Watson) and newly re-named Brigitte Bardot (captained by Fraser Hall). The Faroe Islands are a self-governing Danish Territory of 50,000 people -- descendants of Vikings, bound by proud tradition of "The Grind," which is Faroese for "whale drive." Every year for thousands of years, Faroese people gather to herd pilot whales to their shallow shores to be killed for their meat, which is a food source. During high season of "The Grind," a hunt could occur at any moment, and with over 20 killing beaches spread across 18 islands, the Sea Shepherd may be powerless to stop it as they try to find the whales before the locals do.
