Plot Synopsis

WEIRD LONERS is a single-camera comedy about four relationship-phobic thirysomethings who are unexpectedly thrust into one another's lives, forming unlikely bonds in a Queens, NY, townhouse. Caryn is a cute, but high-strung dental hygienist whose romantic life is dictated by the ultra-romantic 13-year-old barricaded inside the control room of her brain. Each time a handsome new man crosses her field of vision, infatuation and extreme over-eagerness take over, and she inevitably winds up single -- and she's not getting any younger. Handsome, charming and whip-smart Josh was a Wall Street player -- until he got canned for romancing his boss' fiancee. When he got fired, he lost his corporate condo and moved in with his cousin, Eric, who is a sweet man-child. Eric's adult life has consisted of living at home with elderly parents and working as a toll collector on the Queensboro Bridge. After both of his parents pass away, he finds himself cast adrift in the world for the first time. When Stosh moves in and coerces him into redocorating their dated apartment, Eric buys a painting on the street from Zara, a lifelong heartbreaker who's only capable of living one way: in the moment. As fate would have it, Eric lives next door to Caryn, who finds herself unable to resist one of Stosh's particularly ill-timed advances, putting the kibosh on her pending engagement to a kind, but boring, father of two. The split leaves her single, again, and in need of a roommate, prompting Zara to move in, and bringing together these four people who, each for their own distinct reasons, are solo singles.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 9:30pm ET/PT, FOX premiered the season finale of WEIRD LONERS. In the season ender, "We're Here. We're Weird. Get Used To Us.," the group goes to a lesbian bar, where Caryn and Stosh compete for the same woman. Meanwhile, Zara is conflicted between keeping Eric as her darts partner or letting him know that the bar's patrons think he's one of them.
