Plot Synopsis

Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. Ethan was the logical choice for the mission, because he's one of the best Secret Service agents in the Seattle office -- plus, one of the missing agents, Kate Hewson, was his partner with whom he had a relationship that nearly destroyed his marriage. But instead of answers, Ethan's investigation only turns up more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew and the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive, especially after a truck slams into his car. After the collision, Ethan wakes up in the Wayward Pines Hospital, with the intense and unpredictable Nurse Pam at his bedside, but she may be more interested in harming him instead of healing. Ethan begins to question his own sanity, being treated by Dr. Jenkins, a psychiatrist who treats him at the hospital, and meeting local residents, like toymaker Harold Ballinger; a bartender, Beverly, who is as wary of Wayward Pines as he is; and Sheriff Pope, who takes offense to an agent telling him what to do on his own turf. Meanwhile, Ethan's wife, Theresa, is told by Ethan's boss, Adam Hassler, that the agency's preliminary report shows Ethan was never in the car recovered in Idaho, so she takes their teenage son, Ben, to find her husband on her own. WAYWARD PINES is based on the Blake Crouch novel "Pines," brought to TV screen by M. Night Shyamalan. Season 2 of WAYWARD PINES premiered on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT. Starring Jason Patric, Djimon Hounsou and Hope Davis, the 10-episode second season picks up after the shocking events of Season 1 finale, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin (Patric) -- a new resident of Wayward Pines -- awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race. CJ Mitchum (Hounsou), an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, is the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited. Megan Fisher (Davis), is in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the Abbies, and remains deeply involved in the development of the hearts and minds of the future of humanity -- Wayward Pines' First Generation. Also joining the second season are cast members Tom Stevens, returning from Season 1 as Jason Higgins, a member of the First Generation and Pilcher's young acolyte; Nimrat Kaur as Rebecca, who has her own secrets she keeps from Theo, her husband; Josh Helman as Xander, a resident working to undermine Wayward Pines from within; and Kacey Rohl as Kerry, one of Jason's lieutenants in the civil war going on in Wayward Pines. Additionally, several Season 1 cast members will appear in Season 2, including Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Melissa Leo, Tim Griffin, Shannyn Sossamon and Charlie Tahan.
