Plot Synopsis

WAY OUT WEST is reality series that follow three families -- the Bullocks, Korells and Yourens -- who have been running rival outfitting businesses in the Idaho back-country for 150 years. These families all take their clients deep inside the country's last great wilderness for tracking, fishing, rafting, horse riding and camping trips, and in this series they lead the best excursions, survive their various family shenanigans and participate in local festivals and time-honored traditions. From guiding city-dwellers who would otherwise lose their way to rescuing the families' own lost cattle, these men and women of the backcountry still face everyday family situations like raising kids and finding love in the last remnants of the Wild West. In the premiere episode, the Korells are forced to rely on the Yourens when they're overrun with clients, but the clashing styles of the two clans could be a recipe for disaster. Later in the firsts season, Kelsey and Brenda's excitement for pigs -- which is equivalent to some women's excitement for shoes -- lead to a huge workload for Travis when Brenda comes home with way too many pigs. Brenda has her hands full convincing Travis that seven pigs are better than one. Also, the Yourens, Bullocks and Korells blow up dangerous trails, rescue lost cattle, race down roller coaster rapids, find themselves face-to-face with an angry bear and chainsaw their way through an interior decorating project.
