Plot Synopsis

Since its inception in 2004, VH1'S HIP HOP HONORS has recognized the luminaries who broke new ground and propelled the genre into the cultural phenomenon it has become. From hip hop's pioneers like Public Enemy and Tupac Shakur to Def Jam Records and Russell Simmons, VH1 has honored hip hop from its origins through the numerous phases of its musical evolution. From 2004 through 2010, VH1 HIP HOP HONORS was an annual event that honored old school and golden age hip hip stars, featuring live performances by the honorees and new school artists. The inaugural event, hosted by Vivica A. Fox and MC Lyte, honored DJ Hollywood, Kool Herc, KRS-One, Public Enemy, Run-DMC, Rock Steady Crew, Sugarhill Gang, 2Pac, and The Graffiti Movement.

Hosted by Eve, VH1's HIP HOP HONORS: ALL HAIL THE QUEENS was broadcast live on VH1 on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 9pm ET (live)/PT (tape) from David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center.
