Plot Synopsis

In this half-hour cooking show, host Valerie Bertinelli prepares homemade, modern, easy recipes and offers how-to tips and techniques for delicious date nights, pizza parties, family barbecues and much more. Inspired by family recipes passed down through the generations, Valerie adds her own flavor and flair to create mouthwatering meals. Whether it is a quick and easy dinner of Baked Salmon with Honey Mustard Sauce with close friends, or a post-workout brunch featuring blueberry smoothies and Cherry Coconut Scuffins, or grilling BBQ Chicken Kabobs with Tequila Lime Cilantro with the family, each 30-minute episode is filled with delicious food. In the premiere episode, Valerie invites her HOT IN CLEVELAND co-stars Jane Leeves, Wendi Malick and Betty White over for lunch, and she creates a special meal that balances all of their favorites, including Quiche Valerie, Italian Tuna Salad and Grilled Romaine with Caesar-ish Dressing. The sweetest part of this meal is not only the Panna Cotta with Frutti Di Bocca dessert, but the stories and memories they share as they reminisce about their times on set together.

Season 2 of VALERIE'S HOME COOKING premiered on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12:30pm ET/PT on Food Network. On the premiere, Valerie has a full house when she invites friends Michael Burger, Duff Goldman and Jenny Johnson over for a fun night of poker. She ups the ante with a menu full of finger foods, including Southwest Eggrolls with homemade Salsa Dipping Sauce, retro Rumaki Teriyaki, and bite-sized Ham, Apple and Cheddar Sliders. Over the course of the rest of the 13-episode season, Valerie entertains with her favorite recipes, including a satisfying meal of Spicy Coconut Shrimp after a busy day of errands with her husband Tom Vitale, a fab dinner for fab friends with elegant Peppered Beef Tenderloin, a meal fit for a French chef full of melt-in-your-mouth Corn & Cauliflower with Bourbon Infused Butter, a comforting meal with actress Faith Ford of slow-cooked Rice & Beans, the perfect Thanksgiving feast trimmed with Valerie's homemade turkey gravy, and a sweet start to a healthy New Year with a longtime friend Mackenzie Phillips with Mini Pear Compote Crumble with Maple Yogurt.

Food Network premiered the third season of VALERIE'S HOME COOKING on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Noon ET/PT. Over the course of the 13 half-hour long episodes, Valerie is inspired by family recipes that have been passed down through the generations, giving them her own fresh and modern twist. On the premiere, Valerie invites her HOT IN CLEVELAND co-stars Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White over for appetizers before heading to their monthly dinner at a restaurant. Valerie feels the pressure to really impress them with the perfect pre-dinner bites. On the menu are succulent Short Ribs Stacks, authentic Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, and Mini-Roasted Potatoes with Eggplant Caviar served with a Cucumber Spritz to wash it all down. With all these savory starters, the ladies will need to remember to save room for their meal. Whether it is an Italian feast stuffed with Sausage and Peppers Sliders with chef Alex Guarnaschelli, or a new take on a classic retro dinner of Tuna Noodle Casserole to share with husband Tom Vitale, or a Mexican themed fiesta full of Green Chile Queso and Blackened Catfish Tacos with Michelle Branch, Krissy Lefebvre, Kelly Oxford and Melissa Peterman, Valerie serves a special meal every time.

Season 6 of VALERIE'S HOME COOKING premiered on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Noon ET/PT on Food Network. In the season opener, "Be Prepared!," Valerie helps a brand new Cub Scout -- her young nephew, Enzo -- earn his cooking badge with some quick and easy dishes. Together, they create an after-school snack of No-Bake Granola Bars with a Carob "Chocolate" Drizzle, followed by Chicken and Broccoli over Fettuccine in Alfredo Sauce, Cinnamon Strawberry Twists, and Strawberry Milkshakes.

VALERIE'S HOME COOKING returned for its eleventh season on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 11:30am ET/PT on Food Network. In the season opener, "If Mama Ain't Happy...," Valerie knows that taking care of herself makes her a better mom, so for Mother's Day, she invites her friend, actress Angela Kinsey, over to relax and practice some self-care, which of course involves a decadent meal! Valerie makes Roasted Cod with Cashew Coconut Lime Topping, Tangy Quick Collards, Tomato and Cucumber Salad with Cumin Vinaigrette and, for dessert, Citrus Upside-Down Cake.
