Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Midori Amae, URBAN BEAUTY TV is a half-hour series that showcases the latest products and trends in hair, health, makeup, style, and fashion, taking a closer look at the beauty routines of pop culture personalities. Each 30-minute episode features three different people, including: Monica, who shares her skincare routine; Monique Rodriguez, who reveals the tragedy that led to her multi-million-dollar beauty empire; hairstylist Tahirah Carter, who talks about her road to success; Melissa L. Williams, who shows off her daily beauty routine; Kim Lewis, who shares how her natural hair journey paved the way for CurlMix; Deidre Jefferies, who reveals how she got into fashion; and more.

Season 2 of URBAN BEAUTY TV debuted on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:30pm ET on BET Her, with Midori Amae returning as host. This season, Midori interviews: Lavonndra Johnson, Founder/CEO, Elle Johnson Co.; Sherrel Sampson, Founder/CEO, Canviiy; and Monique Glover, Founder/CEO, Lamonique Cosmetics. Plus, these founders are featured: Kenya Moore, Founder/CEO, Kenya Moore Hair Care; Toccara Jones, Founder/CEO, Toccara Jones Intimate Apparel; Tamela Mann, Gospel Sensation & Founder, The Tamela Mann Collection; and Miko Branch, Co-Founder, Miss Jessie's Natural Hair Products. The series also checks in with Dorian Renaud, founder/CEO of Buttah Skin, which bills its skincare line as "nourishment for multicultural skin."

The season opener, "Urban Beauty TV: Wedding Edition" invites the audience to attend the wedding of two of BETs rising stars, Perri Camper and Jeremie Rivers. Leading into the ceremony, this special will delve into the details of what makes a beautiful wedding, from the fashion to the venue and all the details of the big day. Musical performances/appearances include R&B artist, Jac Ross as well as Stokley Williams, solo artist and lead singer of Mint Condition.
