Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Maria Menounos, UNTOLD WITH MARIA MENOUNOS goes behind the headlines to cover subjects ranging from the rise of heroin in Hollywood to the Electronic Dance Music scene, and from transgender civil rights issues to the highs and lows of reality star fame. Each one-hour episode delves into three different stories, while also featuring ongoing segments, like: "The Pop Culture Minute," which focuses on YouTube and Vine stars; and "The Untold Moment," which offers exclusive interviews with Hollywood personalities. In the series premiere, Maria touched on three stories: how the Selfie epidemic is fueling an increasing number of adults and teens to seek plastic surgery; how William and Kate are taking control of the media and preparing their son -- the future king of England -- for life in the social media spotlight; and why creature features continue to be monster hits, including interviews with B-movie legend Roger Corman and SHARKNADO 2 stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, and Kari Wuhrer.

On Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT, E! premiered the fourth installment of UNTOLD WITH MARIA MENOUNOS. In this special, UNTOLD goes beyond the headlines to take a closer look at two major topics: the Transgender movement and Depression in Comedians. In the first portion of the show, Menounos sits with stars Laverne Cox, Candis Cayne and Carmen Carrera to get their untold stories and show how they are helping to pave the way for transgender acceptance. Additionally, she talks to Dr. Marci Bowers, a gender reassignment doctor who is herself transgender. Dr. Bowers' most famous patient became a pop culture celebrity in his own right: Thomas Beatie, the first man in history to give birth. Beatie gives Menounos his personal story. And finally, Menounos sits for an exclusive interview with Nick and Bianca Bowser, a transgender husband and wife, who have with two kids who were carried by Nick.

Then, Menounos looks closely at how Robin Williams's recent suicide put the spotlight on stories of other comedians struggling with depression, and how certain medical studies have found a higher suicide rate among performers. Menounos sits down for a one-on-one with comedian Dane Cook who talks about Robin Williams, and details his own struggle with depression after both his parents died. Additionally, Cook offers insight about why so many comedians struggle. Finally, Menounos tries out a new treatment which trains people's brains to combat depression.
