Plot Synopsis

Using cutting-edge computer technology, illustrative infographics, irreverent humor, and engaging experiments, hosts Randy and Jason Sklar reveal the stories behind the most interesting and surprising statistics in American history. In each 60-minute episode, the Sklars highlight outrageous statistics that are centered around a single theme, such as: the changing size and shape of Americans; where people live in the United States; how Americans spend their the hours and minutes of their days; what events are most likely to kill Americans; and a whole lot more. Their facts and statistics include these gems: the animal most likely to kill Americans is the deer; Americans waste 4.2 billion hours a year stuck in traffic; in a nation with over 3.5 million square miles of territory, 99 percent of Americans are crowded into only eight percent of the land; in the past 100 years, America's average waistline grew from a size 26 to a size 34; in 1954 America was the tallest country in the world, but by 2010 it plummeted to #9 in the world rankings; of his 900 months on Earth, the average American male spends 198 months watching TV, five months on hold, five months complaining about his boss, two months shaving, and two months having sex.
