Plot Synopsis

20/20 MYSTERIOUS MINDS explores the stories of people who struggle with unusual health cases related to the brain. This one-hour series premiered during Discovery Fit & Health's PSYCH WEEK 2014, as the cable channel showed three episodes on consecutive nights -- Tuesday (5/27), Wednesday (5/28) and Thursday (5/29). Each one-hour episode documented multiple stories centered on a single theme, including: "Betrayed by the Brain," which shows how a student hears a certain song when she has seizures, people start speaking in foreign accents, and kids suffer from giggle fits that could be dangerous; "Compulsions," which documents people who eat bizarre non-edibles like rocks, women who can't stop pulling out their hair, compulsive hoarders, and those who can't stop sleeping their lives away; and "Strange Senses," which chronicles people who see everything perfectly except faces, people who see color in music, and others who fly into rages when triggered by everyday sounds.
