Plot Synopsis

Thanks to a Japanese scientist's invention of synthetic blood, TruBlood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many remain apprehensive about these creatures ''coming out of the coffin.'' Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides, but in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the jury is still out. Local waitress Sookie Stackhouse, however, knows how it feels to be an outcast. ''Cursed'' with the ability to listen in on people's thoughts, she's also open-minded about the integration of vampires -- particularly when it comes to Bill Compton, a handsome 173-year-old vampire living up the road. But as Sookie is drawn into a series of mysteries surrounding Bill's arrival in Bon Temps, that tolerance will be put to the test. At the conclusion of Season 4, Sookie summoned all her resources for a climactic encounter with Marnie, and emerged triumphant. But her showdown with Debbie may have had fatal consequences for Tara. During Season 5, Bill and Eric were captured by the Vampire Authority, almost sentenced to death and then released by a mysterious vampire. At the end of the fifth season, Bill drank human blood and was reincarnated with new powers. Season 6 opened on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT on HBO, picking up where last season left off. The Authority is in flames. TruBlood is in short supply. As Bill comes to terms with his newfound powers after emerging reincarnated from a pool of blood, humans are in open conflict with vampires like never before. Meanwhile, Sookie and Jason must steel themselves for an encounter with their parents' killer: the mysterious and ancient Warlow. TRUE BLOOD will return for its 10-episode seventh and final season on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on HBO with an episode directed by Stephen Moyer. Season 7 opens with a band of rogue H-vamps crashing the vampire-human mixer at Bellefleur's, with shocking results. As Sookie seeks refuge from accusations that she's somehow to blame for the chaos in Bon Temps, the "one vampire for every human" plan moves forward. In the face of a vigilante insurrection led by redneck Vince, Bil receives aid from an unexpected source.
