Plot Synopsis

TRICKED OUT TRAINS is a series of one-hour specials that tour railroad passenger cars -- some faithfully restored, others artfully reimagined -- that crisscross the United States. From luxurious lounge cars and panoramic dome cars, to cozy sleepers, and Art Deco-inspired Streamliners, this program reveals how private owners turn these historic cars in the plushest, most elegant, most tricked out trains on the rails today. Travel Channel first aired TRICKED OUT TRAINS as a one-hour special on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT, climbing aboard a passenger car filled with treasured antiquities from the 14th century, witnessing the restoration of a historic car which travels without a locomotive, and experiencing a lavish railcar with a design so florid and extravagant. Then, more than 20 months later, the cable channel premiered back-to-back new episodes on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT. The night's first new episode, "Train Styles of the Rich and Famous," goes on a journey on "the train to the stars," which linked Chicago to California, and then boards the Ringling Bros. car that brought the circus to town. The night's second episode, "Beauty Back on Track," tours a train designed to protect a US president, goes inside a railcar that has housed an entire family, and rides the Luxury Line from New Orleans to Chicago.
