Plot Synopsis

Based on true events, TRIAL BY FIRE is a seven-episode drama series that follows two grief-stricken parents, Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, who navigate the loss of their kids and a dogged fight for justice after the deadly June 1997 Uphaar cinema fire. Neelam and Shekhar scour for information -- and support -- in their fight against the Ansals, who owned the theater. Police make arrests in the fire case but the association for victims' families faces greater hurdles ahead. The case finally reaches court but a floundering prosecutor causes concerns. All seven episodes of TRIAL BY FIRE dropped on Friday, January 13, 2023 on Netflix.
