Plot Synopsis

With only two days and a limited budget, each pair of homeowners hand over the keys to their home and they, along with a designer and carpenter re-imagine a room. The catch? Each of the home owners do not have any input in their own rooms design process or outcome. In this new version of TRADING SPACES (also called Season 9 of the original series), decorators have a $2,000 per-room budget -- twice the budget of the original series -- featuring Paige Davis as host, along with some of her original crew members and a few fresh faces. TRADING SPACES premiered Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 8-10pm ET/PT on TLC, with a reunion hosted by Lisa Joyner immediately followed by a new episode, which features to sisters who are so close that they moved next to each other.

Following up on the much-anticipated relaunch after a ten-year hiatus, TRADING SPACES returned for a new season on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT on TLC. Hosted again by Paige Davis, this season includes 12 episodes filmed across America, where the designers tackle new challenges as varied as teachers' lounges, twin sisters' homes, attics, basements and even homes of ex-spouses, among others. Giving eager home owners the opportunity to hand over their keys and entrust their neighbors and designers to re-imagine a room for them, there is never a shortage of fun, anticipation, hijinks and of course nerves that paint each episode differently. TRADING SPACES designers and carpenters appearing this season are: Brett Tutor, Carter Oosterhouse, Doug Wilson, Frank Bielec, Hildi Santo Tomas, Joanie Sprague, John Gidding, Kahi Lee, Laurie Smith, Mikel Welch, Sabrina Soto, Ty Pennington and Vern Yip.

In the season opener, "Battle of the Decades," it's a blast from the past as TRADING SPACES designs two rooms inspired by fun decades. Host Paige Davis, Designers Kahi Lee and Carter Oosterhouse, and Carpenters Joanie Sprague and Brett Tutor go back to the 1950s and 1970s!
