Plot Synopsis

One hour each weeknight for two weeks, three hosts -- "Princess of Hip-Hop/R&B" Ashanti, Grammy nominee Keri Hilson and Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta -- count down the top 100 music collaborations in a variety of music genres. Throughout music history, collaborations have played a vital role in bringing together artists, especially in early blues and jazz, which focused on jam sessions. Since the first Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 1986, artists annually perform memorable and unexpected collaborations, including: Bruce Springsteen and Bono ("I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"); Mick Jagger and Tina Turner ("Honky Tonk Woman"); John Lee Hooker and Bonnie Raitt ("I'm in the Mood"); The Byrds with Don Henley and Jackson Browne ("Turn! Turn! Turn!"); The Doors with Eddie Vedder ("Break on Through"); The Allman Brothers with Sheryl Crow ("Midnight Rider"); Aerosmith with Kid Rock ("Sweet Emotion"); and many more. In 1995, Al Green and Lyle Lovett earned the first Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, and artists competed in this category each year until 2011, when it became part of a new category, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, the following year. Since 2002, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has conferred a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration to acknowledge "a newly recorded Rap/Sung collaborative performance by artists who do not normally perform together."
