Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by WDU chief content officer Scott M. Gimple and showrunner Channing Powell, TALES OF THE WALKING DEAD is a one-hour horror anthology series, with each stand-alone episode focused on both new and established characters within THE WALKING DEAD universe. Each episode has its own distinct tone and point of view -- but the stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations. We get to see the apocalypse through different eyes, discovering more worlds, mythos, and mysteries of the Walking Dead. Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier and Ron Underwood each direct one episode with series producer Michael Satrazemis directing three installments. TALES OF THE WALKING DEAD premiered on Sunday, August 14, 2022, with the season opener on AMC at 9pm ET/PT and the first two episodes dropping on AMC+ the same night. Subsequent episodes stream one week early, beginning Sunday, August 21. Episodes include:

"Evie; Joe" (Sunday, August 14, 2022 on AMC and AMC+): In a road-trip story, a reclusive prepper abandons his bunker in search of a female prepper from his past. Along the way, he meets an unlikely ally who is his polar opposite, and they team up in an effort to find their lost loved ones. Starring Olivia Munn as Evie and Terry Crews as Joe.

"Blair; Gina" (Sunday, August 14, 2022 on AMC+; Sunday, August 21 on AMC): In a fast-paced, reality-twisting buddy-action heist, a disgruntled receptionist and her overbearing boss are trapped together as Atlanta collapses under the Walker Apocalypse, forcing them to work together to escape the city. Starring Parker Posey as Blair Crawford and Jillian Bell as Gina.

"Dee" (Sunday, August 21, 2022 on AMC+; Sunday, August 28, on AMC): A mother evolves after she and her daughter escape violence and take refuge on a vintage steamboat; the peaceful ambiance deteriorates when a coup attempt forces the mother to revisit her violent past in order to protect her child. Starring Samantha Morton as Dee and Scarlett Blum as Lydia.

"Amy; Dr. Everett" (Sunday, August 28, 2022 on AMC+; Sunday, September 4, 2022 on AMC): In a nature documentary set in the "dead sector," a naturalist who studies walkers encounters a spirited settler; an unlikely respect is forged between the two as the settler tries to argue in favor of people taking back the land from the dead. Starring Poppy Liu as Amy and Anthony Edwards as Dr. Chauncey Everett.

"Davon" (Sunday, September 4, 2022 on AMC+; Sunday, September 11, 2022 on AMC): In a noir-ish fractured-memory thriller, a young stranger suddenly wakes up in a dangerous, foreign town with no memory of how he got there; he must piece together fragments of his broken mind to uncover why the townspeople accuse him of murder. Starring Jessie T. Usher as Davon and Embeth Davidtz as Amanda.

"La Dona" (Sunday, September 11, 2022 on AMC+; Sunday, September 18, 2022 on AMC): A haunting tale of an apocalypse-traumatized couple who may or may not be tormented by a haunted house; frightening memories coupled with inexplicable phenomena in the house take a toll on the couple's psyche and their relationship. Starring Julie Carmen as La Dona, Daniella Pineda as Idalia, and Danny Ramirez as Eric.
