Plot Synopsis

SUDDENLY RICH is a one-hour series that chronicles the stories of ordinary people who have experienced an unexpected financial windfall that changed their lives in unimaginable ways. Some people have their money come out of the blue when they marry into a family they later learn is rich. Others might win the lottery, strike oil in their backyard, win a court settlement, or inherit a large estate. Each one-hour episode introduces four of these unexpected millionaires, whose lives were forever changed, and reveals whether money can buy happiness. SUDDENLY RICH was originally scheduled to premiere on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC, but the cable channel removed the program from its schedule at the last minute. The series premiered nearly six months later on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT. In the series opener, "Going Viral," a young couple experiences a "golden anniversary"; a teen bags himself more than just groceries; and a scrappy plan leads to the ultimate find.
