Plot Synopsis

Using re-enactments, archival photographs and videos, and first-person interviews with investigators, police officers and families and friends of the victims and criminals, this half-hour series chronicles dark secrets of American small towns, including crimes like money laundering and murder. Each 30-minute episode of SUBURBAN SECRETS documents the case of a different victim, including: Ali Kemp, a 19-year-old lifeguard in Leawood, KS, who was discovered in the pool's pump room beaten to death; Jennifer Abbott, a popular resident of quiet Dudley, MA, who suddenly falls ill one morning and abruptly dies after her symptoms -- which resemble those of methanol poisoning -- spiral out of control; Diane King, a local celebrity in Marshall, MI, who was shot in her home on a typical Saturday, and the investigators must determine if the shots came from a hunter, a crazed stalker, or someone closer to home; William and Theresa Samuel, who are discovered by a lifelong Aliquippa, PA resident, Detective Timmie Patrick; and many more real stories of criminal behavior in suburban America. On Friday, June 13 at 9pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery (ID) broadcast the network premiere of this series, showing back-to-back episodes that had previously aired on Court TV when SUBURBAN SECRETS first premiered.
