Plot Synopsis

SPOTLIGHTS: A SHOWTIME SHORT FILM SERIES is a half-hour anthology series featuring the bold works of various emerging filmmakers, with each episode featuring two to three short films that vary in timely subject matter, tone and perspective.

The series opener features three stories:
"Pozole": Maia sets out to reconnect with her Mexican-American roots.
"Tea Time on Hip Hop Nation": Radio show host Ethel Jenny interviews for a new gig.
"Broken Bird": The story of a biracial girl who prepares for her bat mitzvah.
