Plot Synopsis

Ten body painters compete in weekly elimination challenges that test their creativity, talent and techniques, as they vie for the grand prize: a $100,000 cash prize and a career-launching opportunity, which for Season 2 included an all-expense paid trip for two to the World Body Painting Festival in Austria, and a nationally-distributed Royal and Langnickel custom brush collection with their name on it. Each week the remaining contestants take part in an artistic challenge -- which may include camouflage, graffiti, multiple model installations, corporate ad campaigns, animal art, and more -- as they try to impress the panel of three judges. At the end of each show, one body painter is sent home, until only three contestants remain and compete in the finale. The three judges are: legendary entertainer RuPaul and body painting rock stars Craig Tracy and Robin Slonina. In addition to being the show's host, Rebecca Romijn, the first model to be body-painted for Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue, is also an executive producer for SKIN WARS. The ten contestants in the first season are: Alan Anderson (Denver), an award winning artist, who also makes a living as a firefighter and paramedic; Angela Roberts (Lafayette, LA, the youngest of the contestants at age 21, who has used her talent and art to overcome some of the learning disabilities she's faced since an early age; Dutch Bihary (Seattle, WA), who teaches workshops around the country with his wife, in addition to owning and operating a face and body painting workshop in Seattle, WA; Felle (Detroit, MI), a master of the air brush gun, who has painted murals and more for hip hop royalty, including Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, and Kanye West; Gear Boxxx (Las Vegas, NV), a street graffiti artist, who turned body painting instructor and loves all things anime and Bruce Lee; Mythica Von Griffyn (Denver, CO), a certified hypnotherapist, who is also a Reiki Master and a reverend; Natalie Fletcher (Bend, OR), who is trained in classic realism and technical painting, specializing in hand painted camouflage landscapes; Nicole Hays (Riverview, FL), the black sheep of her family of dentists and doctors, decided to become an artist while on spring break in Florida; Sean Avram (Hinesburg, VT), a former professional wrestler, commentator and ring announcer, who is now known for body painting fantasy and science fiction characters; and Shannon Holt (Orlando, FL), who got her start painting guests at high end nudist resorts and now travels the world, body painting at art galleries and private parties. Natalie Fletcher was named the series' first winner in Season 1. SKIN WARS returned for its second season on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on GSN, with judges RuPaul, Craig Tracy and Robin Slonina all coming back for Season 2, which featured these body painting artists: Aryn Fox (Cincinnati, OH), RAW Artist of the Year in 2013 in the special effects makeup category; Avi Ram (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), who has been airbrushing for 10 years and now owns his own successful airbrush store; Cheryl Ann Lipstreu (Belews Creek, NC), who was introduced to body painting through an artist who painted her along with her horse; Dawn Marie (Madison, WI), who is known as the "glitter queen"; Fernello Nelson (Queens, NY), who been body painting for five years, leaving his medical career to pursue a full-time career as a painter; Kyle Vest (Orlando, FL), who is a graduate of the Joe Blasco Master's Program and Herron School of Art; Lana Chromium (San Diego, CA), who holds a degree in graphic design and can paint in a variety of media; Marcio Karam (Pompano Beach, FL), who started his body-painting hobby on a friendly dare one Halloween; Rachel Deboer (Maui, HI), who feels that "body painting is a sacred medicine for humanity.
