Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Steve Harvey, SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO is a one-hour weekly series that re-imagines the classic talent showcase series from Apollo's legendary Amateur Night, now in its 82nd year. In addition to providing a platform for up-and-coming performers, the Apollo audience is famed as one of entertainment's most boisterous and brutally honest, and those amateurs who don't win them over must endure the wrath of this notorious crowd. In each 60-minute episode, Harvey is joined by some of the biggest stars in comedy and music. Artists featured in the two SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO specials that aired the year before the series premiere include John Legend, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes, Doug E. Fresh, Chaka Khan, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Flo Rida, Rakim, T.I. featuring Meek Mill, Quavo and RaRa, Bell Biv Devoe, En Vogue and Jodeci; and comedians Anthony Anderson, Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Jay Pharoah, Mike Epps and Gabriel Iglesias. On Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 8-9pm ET/PT, FOX premiered SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO's one-hour Christmas special. Steve Harvey hosts the classic talent showcase, with special co-host Adrienne Houghton, featuring Snoop Dogg, Boyz II Men, Fifth Harmony, DMX, nd more, as well as a talent competition for up-and-coming artists. FOX broadcast the official series premiere of SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT, with special guests Pitbull and Fifth Harmony.
On Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT, FOX premiered the Season 1 finale of SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO. On the season finale, hosted by Steve Harvey and co-hosted by Adrienne Houghton, the best of the best, who previously won over the toughest audience in the world this season, return to perform one more time for a chance at headlining their very own show at the Apollo.
