Plot Synopsis

Just like the 2013 theatrical film of the same name, THE SHORT GAME follows eight of the very best 7- and 8-year-old golfers in the United States as they navigate school, family life and the series of tournaments that lead to the ultimate test of skill and dedication -- the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship. These young phenoms, none of whom were in the movie, hail from a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds and face real pressures on the course from their own sense of competitiveness, but also from their parents. Now, this 10-episode series takes a more in-depth look at each of these golfers and their families to learn more about what this level of play means for them emotionally and financially and to see who has the most at stake, the kids or their parents. Beginning December 22, 2014, all 10 episodes of THE SHORT GAME were viewable on the network's mobile app Esquire TV NOW and online at, and On Demand with multiple MVPD partners, including Comcast, Charter, Time Warner, DirectTV, Verizon and Cablevision.
On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11pm ET/PT, Esquire Network premiered the season finale of THE SHORT GAME. In the season ender, "Last Hole," it's the final day at Pinehurst, where a few of the golfers still have their dreams within reach.
