Plot Synopsis

SELENA + CHEF is an unscripted cooking series that features Selena Gomez as she navigates unfamiliar territory: making delicious meals while stuck at home in quarantine. Since social distancing at home, Selena has been spending more time in the kitchen than she ever imagined. But despite her many talents, it remains to be seen if cooking is one of them. In each episode of this cookalong, Selena is joined remotely by a different master chef, including Antonia Lofaso, Ludo Lefebvre, Candice Kumai, Roy Choi, Jon and Vinny, Nancy Silverton, Angelo Sosa, Tanya Holland, Daniel Holzman, and Nyesha Arrington. Together, they tackle cuisines of every variety, share invaluable tips and tricks, and deal with everything from smoking ovens to missing ingredients. Each episode highlights a food-related charity, while inviting audiences to follow along at home. HBO Max released the first three episodes of SELENA + CHEF on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, featuring Ludo Lefevbre, Antonia Lofaso, and Candice Kumai.

HBO Max premiered a special Friendsgiving episode of SELENA + CHEF on Thursday, November 19, 2020, as Selena and celebrity cook and judge Aarti Sequeira whip up a tandoori butter turkey breast and colorful side dishes that might just revolutionize Selena's favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Both are joined by friends to celebrate the holiday.

The second season of SELENA + CHEF debuted on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as HBO Max released the first three episodes of the new season. Season 2 continues with another three episodes on each of the following Thursdays: January 28 and February 4. In Season 2, Selena continues her cooking adventures with a new roster of all-star chefs that help her whip up delicious dishes at home. Like in its first season, each chef will highlight a different charity in their episode. The new chefs included in Season 2 are: Curtis Stone (Jan 21), JJ Johnson (Jan 21), Jose Andres (Jan 21), Marcus Samuelsson (Jan 28), Kelis Rogers (Jan 28), Jordan Andino (Jan 28), Marcela Valladolid (Feb 4), Evan Funke (Feb 4), and Graham Elliot (Feb 4).

Season 3 of SELENA + CHEF premiered on Thursday, October 28, 2021, as HBO Max released the first three episodes of the new season. This season also embraces fun (Covid-safe) group recipes for game nights, brunches, birthdays, holidays and more. Like in its first two seasons, each chef will highlight a different charity each episode. To date, the series has raised $360,000 for 23 nonprofit organizations. Season 3 celebrity chefs include: Aaron Sanchez (Oct 28), Ayesha Curry (Oct 28), Kwame Onwuachi (Oct 28), Fabio Viviani (Nov 4), Richard Blais (Nov 4), Padma Lakshmi (Nov 4), Esther Choi (Nov 11), Sophia Roe (Nov 11), Gabe Kennedy (Nov 11), and Jamie Oliver (Nov 11).
