Plot Synopsis

To remake and reinvent America's most delicious dishes, Sandra Lee visits famous restaurants across the United States, learns chefs' secrets and then heads back home to recreate their masterpieces, while showing viewers tricks, shortcuts and helpful hints. In each 30-minute episode, Sandra Lee reimagines three or four dishes, desserts and drinks, including: the duck featured at Alize Restaurant on the top floor of Palms Casino, which she remakes and calls Heavenly Chicken; Chocolate Chip Cookie Trifle at Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery, which she reinvents as Butterscotch Ice Cream Trifles; the Frozen Elvis, a dessert drink, for which she makes her own version and calls it Miss You Elvis; Grilled Filone and Fonduta from Scott Conant's Italian bistro D.O.C.G., on which she puts her own spin and cooks up Creamy Fondue With Poached Egg and Baguette; fried quail dish at China Poblano, for which she adds a new twist as Crispy Chicken With Spicy Cranberry Pear Sauce; smoky and sexy cocktails at Latin hotspot Macondo, such as the Andino Ahumado and her delicious Grilled Gin and Tonic; the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata at The Parker Meridian, which she transforms into Crispy Potatoes With Cheesy Eggs; the famous guacamole served at Dos Caminos, which inspired her Guacamole Bar; cinnamon buns from Cinnabon; a "Hurricane Sandy" cocktail at Otto's Shrunken Head, which was inspired by a favorite cake; Roy's Divinely Rich Crab Cakes Benedict, remade as the easier Divinely Rich Eggs Benedict With Crab; Forgione's Butterscotch Trifle, which she makes her own; cocktails from the shimmering Chandelier Bar; the Guinness Award Winning hot dog served at Serendipity 3, turned into a Big Decadent Hot Dog; the Million Dollar Roast Chicken served at The Standard, which she recreates as Creamy Poached Chicken; The Bowery Diner's Milkshake Cocktail, remade as a Peaches and Cream Shake; Central's Celebration Cake, reimagined as her Individual Layered Ice Cream Bomb Cakes; Apotheke Bar's cocktail, remixed as "Girl with a Mango Dragon Cocktail"; Valbella's Truffled Meatball on Brioche Toast, remade and renamed the Unbelievable Meatball Burger; Shanghai Lobster featured at Spago's, repurposed as Sandra's Lobster Shanghai; The Strip House's 24 Layer Chocolate Cake, rebaked as Sandra's Ultimate Layer Cake; and many more delights.
