Plot Synopsis

Executive produced and created by Sierra Teller Ornelas, Mike Schur, and series star Ed Helms, RUTHERFORD FALLS is a half-hour comedy series set in upstate New York, where local legend and town namesake Nathan Rutherford fights the moving of a historical statue, which turns Rutherford Falls -- and the bordering Native American reservation -- completely upside down. Nathan's best friend since childhood, Reagan Wells, is incredibly smart and hopelessly principled, and she dreams of making her tribe's modest Cultural Center into a world-renowned museum. Reagan's boss, Terry Thomas, is the shrewd and charismatic CEO of his tribe's mid-level casino, and has big plans for both Reagan and their tribe. Nathan's non-binary teenage intern/executive assistant, Bobbie Yang, is an outspoken and ambitious first generation American, who is doing everything possible to escape their tiny hometown, where reporter/podcaster Josh Carter has taken an interest. Featuring multiple indigenous writers and comics, RUTHERFORD FALLS debuted on Peacock on Thursday, April 22, 2021, as the streaming service released all 10 episodes of the first season.

The entire eight-episode second season of RUTHERFORD FALLS dropped on Thursday, June 16, 2022 on Peacock. In Season 2, life-long best buds Nathan Rutherford and Reagan Wells help each other tackle work, romance, and major changes to their small town and the Native American reservation it borders, initiated by Tribal Casino C.E.O. Terry Thomas. In the season opener, "White Man in the Cupboard," everyone must adjust to big changes as the town turns into a Colonial-themed tourist experience.
