Plot Synopsis

Based on the RUSH HOUR movie trilogy, this one-hour series follows Det. Lee, a by-the-book Hong Kong police officer, who is assigned to a case in Los Angeles where he's forced to work with Carter, a cocky LAPD officer who has no interest in having a partner. Carter is an irreverent and wildly confident bad-boy detective, a maverick who uses unorthodox methods to get things done, often causing the top brass to look the other way. Lee, his polar opposite, is a dedicated professional and master martial artist, a man of few words who knows how to get the job done -- the right way. Lee comes to L.A. to avenge his sister's alleged death and learn more about her connection to a Chinese organized crime ring. Captain Cole, Carter's boss, gets exasperated with him, but she knows he's a brilliant detective who gets results. Attempting to help the two get along is Sergeant 'Didi' Diaz, Carter's friend and former partner who doesn't hesitate to call him out on his antics. Secretly aiding them as an informant is Carter's cousin, Gerald, a low-level offender who runs with a tough crowd. Even as cultures clash and tempers flare, Carter and Lee can't deny they make a formidable team, and grudgingly admit that sometimes an unlikely pairing makes for a great partnership. Bill Lawrence co-wrote the pilot and is an executive producer of the series. After a two-month break, RUSH HOUR returned with new episodes on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS. In the summer premiere, "Prisoner of Love ," detectives Carter and Lee hunt an escaped prisoner searching for his estranged wife and daughter who are in witness protection. When the pair go missing, the Detectives must find how their location was compromised.

In the series ender, "Familee Ties," a meeting of rival Los Angeles gang lords is orchestrated by the Quantou gang, and Carter and Lee must infiltrate it to find Lee's sister, Kim, and save her from going further with the Quantou.
