Plot Synopsis

Filmed in the heart of Harlem and modeled after TED Talks, THE ROUND is a half-hour series that showcases speakers who share their personal journeys, with each woman using their eight-minute talk to leave the audience with one key concept to activate in their own life. Speakers include: Kimberly Blackwell, CEO, PMM Agency; Tiffany Dufu, Chief Leadership Officer, Levo; Sheryl Jones, Owner, Sheryl Jones Designs (Diamond District); Tamika Mallory, Civil Rights & Anti-Violence Activist; TeeJ Mercer, CEO, Media Mavericks Academy; Vashti McKenzie, Bishop, AME Church; Jodie Patterson, Founder, Doobop.com; Tricia Rose, Author & Professor, Brown University; Angela Rye, Principal & CEO, Impact Strategies; and Bershan Shaw, Transformational Speaker. THE ROUND returned for its second season on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11pm ET/PT on Centric. In the season opener, Ms. Hira shares perspectives on the power of personal totems, and Ms. Reed-Veal, a Mother of the Movement, encourages viewers to be ready and willing to walk their own personal path with faith, regardless of life's peaks and valleys. On Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11pm ET/PT, Centric premiered the Season 2 finale of BEING. In the season ender, Thelma Golden illuminates the idea of imagery and the power and possibility that art provides, and Claire Sulmers shares her inspiring personal story in the fashion industry.
