Plot Synopsis

This one-hour series centers on Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr., Miami's top private pathologist and owner of the most sophisticated independent lab in the country, where he finds the secrets in bodies that others usually miss. Despite being constantly surrounded by death and plagued with his own set of medical ailments, Rosewood is obsessed with life and savors every moment. But what drives him most are the victims who are stripped of life's moments. His eternal optimism frustrates the tough-as-nails Det. Annalise Villa, the cynical female detective he often works with, but she can't argue with his results. Together, Rosewood and Villa solve the city's most challenging cases. Joining Rosewood in his practice are his sister and toxicology queen, Pippy; and DNA specialist Tara Milly Izikoff (aka TMI), who is Pippy's fiancee. Rosewood's mom, Donna, is on the cusp of some major life changes that will affect her children profoundly. A matriarch with a lot of strong opinions, Donna holds family gatherings sacred and makes Rosewood's love life a regular topic of conversation. Rounding out the cast is Miami PD's Capt. Ira Hornstock, who is a great team leader but is terrible at managing his own life. Hornstock and Rosewood have a complicated relationship: while he can't stand Rosewood's big personality and sunny disposition, he acknowledges Rosewood's stellar contributions to the department. Season 2 of ROSEWOOD premiered on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX, as Eddie Cibrian joins the regular cast for the show's second season as a new captain, Ryan Slade. In the season opener, "Forward Motion & Frat Life," Slade shakes things up at the East Miami Police Department, and Miami's young, hot-shot mayor gets personally involved when his promising young mentee is mysteriously murdered.

On Friday, April 28, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT, FOX premiered the Season 2 finale of ROSEWOOD, with NASCAR Racer Austin Dillon making a guest appearance. In the season ender, "Blistering Heat & Brotherly Love," Rosewood, Villa, Slade and Hornstock work to take down a highly skilled group of criminals suspected of a jewelry store heist, and Rosie decides that someone from the inner circle should run a new Magic City Lab on the West Coast.
