Plot Synopsis

The people of Arcadia, Missouri, are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. It starts when an 8-year-old American boy wakes up alone in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province with no idea how he got there. Details start to emerge when the boy, who calls himself Jacob, recalls that his hometown is Arcadia and H. Martin Bellamy, an agent with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, takes him there. The home he claims as his own is occupied by an elderly couple, Hank and Lucille Langston, who lost their son Jacob more than 30 years ago. While they look different, young Jacob recognizes them as his parents. Those closest to the family try to unravel this impossible mystery, including Sheriff Fred, whose wife, Barbara, drowned 30 years ago trying to save Jacob. But this boy, who claims to be the deceased Jacob, knows secrets about his own death that no one else knows -- secrets that Fred's daughter, Maggie, and her life-long friend, Elaine, draw them into the growing mystery. And then more people come back, like Caleb, a mysterious man from the past, and the father of Elaine, a snarky woman with a controlling personality who loses her composure when she sees her dad alive. With so many dead people returning to Arcadia, even the local minister, Pastor Tom, starts to question his beliefs. RESURRECTION returned for its second season on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on ABC. In the season opener, "Revelation," Bellamy awakens alone and abandoned at Arcadia's outskirts, missing a week of his life. As his memory returns, he has a shocking revelation. Meanwhile, Arcadia welcomes one more returned, Margaret Langston, the powerful matriarch of the Langston family, dead for over three decades.

On Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, ABC premiered the Season 2 finale of RESURRECTION. In the season ender, "Loved in Return," Preacher James and his congregation of Returned all descend upon the Langston house to stop Rachael's baby from being born. Trapped inside, Bellamy, Henry and Fred arm themselves for a fight and are determined to protect their own and save this baby. But looming over all of them is the same question: Are any of them really ready to face the implications of what this might bring?
