Plot Synopsis

Directed by Roberto Hernandez, REASONABLE DOUBT: A TALE OF TWO KIDNAPPINGS is a four-part documentary series that exposes the truth behind Mexico's flawed justice system by following the story of a fender bender that turned into a kidnapping case. Investigating the effects of a new criminal justice system, Roberto meets four inmates accused of a kidnapping in Tabasco, who claim to be innocent. The inmates grow hopeful when Andres, a lawyer arranged by Roberto, accepts their case. Mrs. GLP takes the stand and gives a shocking testimony. As the men face a new accusation, Roberto races against the clock to find an eyewitness willing to testify. Dr. Worral reconstructs the crime scene. Andres decides to make public the upsetting incident with his van. The final hearing brings an unexpected -- and gut-wrenching -- outcome. On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Netflix released the entire four-episode series.
