After a 15-month break, REAL STORY OF... returned with a series of new specials at 9pm ET/6pm PT on ReelzChannel on consecutive nights:

"Boston Strangler" (Saturday, May 11): When a string of women are found strangled in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood Police Detective Phil DiNatale launches a major homicide investigation. The killer leaves a macabre calling card -- a giant bow wrapped around the victim's neck. Hollywood dramatized the investigation in The Boston Strangler and the movie ends with the killer, played by Tony Curtis, held in an asylum. But in the real story the murders were never officially solved and DiNatale died among accusations that he caught the wrong man. 50 years after the strangler murders modern-day forensics finally vindicates him.

"All Eyez on Me" (Sunday, May 12): Born to a Black Panther mother Tupac Shakur's childhood was steeped in ideas about revolution and social injustice. Scarred by poverty and intimidation by the FBI Tupac found an escape in acting and a love of Shakespeare. The coupling of words and rhythm with a burning message saw rap inevitably become his platform. But his belief in the need to live the life of those he represented saw him trapped in his role as a 'gangsta'. It was a role that he played so well he was eventually killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996. This episode features exclusive interviews with close friends including his former theater guru Donald Hicken.
