Plot Synopsis

Often described as THE VIEW for a younger generation, THE REAL is a daily, afternoon talk show that features five diverse and outspoken hosts, who offer their unique perspectives through conversation. These five women are all going through varied life experiences -- including new motherhood, new marriages, dating or singledom -- that relate to every woman's own trials and tribulations. The five hosts are: Tamera Mowry-Housley, star of TIA & TAMERA and best known for her role on SISTER SISTER, who is married to Fox News correspondent Adam Housley and is a new mother to son Aden; Tamar Braxton, a founding member of the R&B group The Braxtons and star of TAMAR & VINCE, who is married to music executive Vince Herbert and is a new mother to June; Loni Love, a comedian and actress seen on CHELSEA LATELY and THE WORLD'S DUMBEST, who used to be an engineer and whose book, "Love Him or Leave Him," hit stores in July 2013; Adrienne Bailon, a founding member and lead singer of 3LW and later a Cheetah Girl, who recently earned Latina Magazine's 2012 award for "Latina Fashionista of the Year"; and Jeannie Mai, longtime host of HOW DO I LOOK? and co-host of STYLE POP, who is married to "The Hollywood Hunter" Freddy Harteis. Starting Monday, July 15, 2013, THE REAL had a four-week trial run on Fox-owned stations in seven cities (all times are local): New York City (Fox 5 @ Noon); Los Angeles (Fox 11 @ 1pm); Philadelphia (Fox 29 at 11am); Washington D.C. (Fox 5 at 11am); Tampa (Fox 13 @ 1pm); Houston (Fox 26 @ 1pm); and Phoenix (Fox 10 at 1pm). Six weeks after its trial run, THE REAL was picked up for national syndication, premiering in nationwide on Monday, September 15, 2014 (check local listings), with reruns on BET at 6pm ET/PT the same day. In the first episode shown nationwide, the girls welcomed guest rapper The Game, gave away two designer handbags, and discussed boot trends.
