Plot Synopsis

The National Football League's Detroit Lions wanted to host their own bowl game at Ford Field, and the team received approval and support of both the Big Ten Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference football committees for the 2014 season -- with Ford Motor Company's Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center as the title sponsor. The Big Ten Conference, who first partnered on the game, extended their agreement through 2025. The Mid-American Conference (MAC) replaced the ACC as primary bowl partner after previously being the game's secondary partner. Because of COVID, there was no game in 2020.
