Plot Synopsis

Set in New York City in the 1960s, PUBLIC MORALS is a one-hour drama series that centers on New York City's Public Morals Division, where cops walk the line between morality and criminality as the temptations that come from dealing with all kinds of vice threaten to get the better of them. Officer Terry Muldoon is determined to raise his sons to be honest and hardworking as he deals with the city's dark underbelly, and his partner, Charlie Bullman, is the Division's muscle. As Muldoon watches the Hells Kitchen streets where he grew up devoured by an escalating war within two factions of the Irish-American Mob, he becomes more determined than ever to fight back against the city's dark underbelly so he can provide a safe place where he and his wife, Christine, can raise their family. Created by series star Edward Burns, PUBLIC MORALS is inspired by his own life growing up in a family of cops in the Big Apple in the '60s. Season 1 features guest appearances by Timothy Hutton, Brian Dennehy, Neal McDonough, and Robert Knepper.
