Plot Synopsis

Written, directed and executive produced by Steven Conrad, PATRIOT is a one-hour drama series the follows the complicated life of intelligence officer John Tavner. His latest assignment is to prevent Iran from going nuclear, requiring him to forgo all safety nets and assume a perilous "non-official cover" -- that of a mid-level employee at a Midwestern industrial piping firm. A bout with PTSD, the Federal government's incompetence, and the intricacies of keeping a day job in the "front" industrial piping company cause a barrage of ever-escalating fiascos that jeopardize Tavner's mission. While the future of the world is at stake, it's often the idiosyncrasies of those around John Tavner that force him to have to choose between bad alternatives. Those characters include Tom Tavner, John's State Department Director of Intelligence father; John's older brother Edward Tavner, a young Texas congressman; John's wife Alice; Agathe, a brilliant young homicide detective from Luxembourg hot on John's trail; and Mr. Claret, John's stickler of a new "boss" at the piping firm where John is "employed." Amazon released the pilot of PATRIOT on Thursday, November 5, 2015, and 15 months later presented the world series premiere at Berlin Film Festival, Berlinale on February 14, 2017. Ten days after the festival, Amazon released the entire series online on Friday, February 24 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Amazon Prime members can stream the series exclusively via the Amazon Prime Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online. Members can also download the series to mobile devices for offline viewing at no additional cost to their membership. Amazon Prime Video released the eight-episode second season of PATRIOT on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. John works to salvage a deteriorating covert mission in order to rescue his brother Edward, their father Tom orders a failsafe: to assassinate the pro-nuclear Iranian presidential candidate in a heavily-guarded Paris compound. Meanwhile, too many people have come to know too much - John's team of allies has grown but so has his field of adversaries, and his efforts to navigate these forces come with a heavy cost. Allegiances are tested as Agathe turns her attention to a more ambitious target. And John is not alone in the crosshairs anymore. New series regular Debra Winger plays Bernice Tavner, mother to lead John Tavner, and a high-ranking federal government official whose obligation to her country requires distance from her son's complicated work, while her son's worsening mental state requires the close care of a mother.
