Plot Synopsis

Psychologist Dr. Kate McGinn and former cop Price Whatley work together as a formidable -- and somewhat dysfunctional -- team. In each episode Price and Kate unravel a new mystery involving the past lives of their clients and solve the mysteries of consciousness. Kate works out of The Talmadge Center for Behavioral Health in New York City, a world-renowned institute dedicated to the study of the science of the soul. Using therapy and her natural gift for reading people, Kate helps solve the mysteries of her troubled clients by investigating their consciousness. Price is a former NYPD homicide detective, who is pragmatic and cynical, and uses his solid detective skills to complement Kate's penchant for out-of-the-box thinking. Kate and Price solve these mysteries with their colleagues: Dr. Malachi Talmadge, who is Kate's mentor, a legend in the field of cognitive research and the center's namesake; and Dr. Rishi Karna, who is a baby-faced therapist from Calcutta and loves bad American TV, Cuban jazz and driving everyone crazy.
